Biography

Caroline graduated summa cum laude from Hanover College in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry where her work with Dr. Edward Hall focused on exploring bismuth oxide as an effective photocatalyst. She is currently a fourth year in the Neglected Disease Drug Discovery Lab and enjoys her time outside the lab by hanging out with her cat Millie.

Highlighted awards: 

  • ACS Medicinal Chemistry Predoctoral Fellowship, 2023-2024. This fellowship funds a year of research in the field of medicinal chemistry through a sponsorship by Genentech. 
  • Outstanding Graduate Student Leadership Award, 2023. This award recognizes graduate students who have demonstrated significant leadership and a deep commitment to giving back to members of Northeastern’s community or surrounding neighborhoods. 
  • Dean’s Award for Graduate Student Excellence in Leadership, 2023. This award is given to graduate students who have excelled in leadership within the College of Science and also within the university. 
  • Northeastern University Department Citizenship Award, 2022. This award is given in recognition of the contributions to the academic life of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology.
  • German Exchange Participant, 2022. Eleven students were selected to represent NESACS at the 2022 Frühjahrssymposium in Hannover, Germany. 
  • The Ned Guthrie Chemistry Award, 2020. This award is given to the chemistry major who has made the most significant contribution to the College in the current academic year.
